Outer Planet Table

Try something new, again and again and again. This table is the result of a string of (mostly) successful experiments. What is it like to cut a chunk of Texas Elm into a circle? How small and what shape can the mounting plate from the base to the top be to keep it from wobbling? Can you use tinted epoxy to fill voids and then use a spar urethane and then leave the table outside? (results here were “no”) What if you use clear epoxy as the finish coat, and then use a UV-resistant metal sealer as a top coat? (much better) There was also a side quest where I converted a small-animal treadmill into an angled rotisserie(?) to be able to apply the epoxy on all sides without it dripping… Fun times this table, and such a nice place to put a cup of coffee.
