Desk Lamp One

This lamp is the first in a series of works that feature a cut glass bottle for a shroud. I was given the idea from a friend who wanted to have a “bankers” style lamp that incorporated a green wine bottle. After a number of misadventures in glass cutting I worked out a technique that allows me to notch out a section from the side of the bottle that provides for the intended function. The subsequent lamps are unique in terms of materials used and the way they articulate, while still adhering to a shared supporting structure.
