Sprinkler Head Flower

It might be my background in espresso, but whenever I see anything brass my palms get a little sweaty.  Brass can’t be joined to other metals through the welding process that I use, so I have to be more creative in the ways that I work it in.  Here, for example, I pressed parts together or drilled and tapped new holes to screw parts together.  For the blossom I added a bicycle sprocket, a flattened turbine from a jeep water pump, and a reworked bicycle brake rotor. The base and lower stem are comprised of a jaw from a crescent wrench, a steering wheel mounting bracket, a tapered roller bearing, and some brake rotor leaves.  I finished the flower off with a gauge from a spent fire extinguisher to give it an extra bit of eye-catching color.
