CGI Lamp

My ideas don’t always work out. Generally, I’ve found this to be a good thing, as some of my ideas are basically stupid.  But let’s not dwell on that.  A friend of mine whose gallery I had shown at told me about an art competition that she was hosting, and encouraged me to submit an entry.  The rules stipulated that works had to be “new, never shown, or offered for sale” to be eligible.  So out to the shop I went.  Glass off-cuts from other lamps, twisted wire from an idea that never worked out, a timing chain from a Jeep engine, a handful of crystals from an antique chandelier, and a giant gear from who-knows-where drifted together to form this impractical ‘little’ lamp.  The competition didn’t work out in my favor, but hey, ‘outcomes’ beat ‘ideas’ every time.
