When a friend asked if I could use this planed cedar log for something, I didn’t hesitate to clear room in my shop for it. At almost 8.5′ long but only a little over 9″ deep, I was faced with a choice between cutting it apart or doing something big. As is usually the case, I chose the latter. I cut a rim from a Model A Ford in half and welded some heavy C channel steel to the flat sides. I then attached a long camshaft welded to a Jeep spring hanger on each of the wheel halves to complete the legs. At 42″ to the top, it’s just right for a good lean.
